About 916 Education Foundation

Giving the gift of independence

The 916 Education Foundation is a charitable organization that enhances teaching and learning through economic support to the students, staff, programs and member districts of Northeast Metro 916 Intermediate School District. The Foundation provides a positive impact on the educational experiences of thousands of students served by Northeast Metro 916 Intermediate School District and the educational staff who dedicate themselves to the students’ education.

Members of the 916 Education Foundation are proud that a large number of families, businesses, organizations and Northeast Metro 916 staff contribute to the foundation's efforts.

The foundation raises money to augment the resources of Northeast Metro 916 for students and staff with:

  • Student scholarships and recognition

  • Specialized equipment

  • Program development

  • Program grants

  • Staff development and recognition

Who we serve

Northeast Metro 916 is one of four Intermediate School Districts in the metropolitan area of St. Paul and Minneapolis. Its primary customer base includes 14 K-12 member districts:

As an intermediate school district, 916 provides more than 150 programs and services in the core areas of special education, career and technical education, area learning centers and elementary education. By partnering with member districts and schools, the district is able to enhance educational opportunities for students and achieve cost efficiencies through collaboration.
